REES researcher Carl Dalhammar is one of the authors of a new book on planned obsolescence (PO). The book has been written together with staff at the Fores think tank and another researcher at Lund University.  The book is published by the European Liberal Forum. The  book explains what PO is and provides examples of PO, outlines the links between the Circular Economy and the Climate challenge, and discusses policy solutions. The book aims to inform policymakers and other interested parties about the main issues in relation to PO.

The book will be launched at an event in Stockholm on 21 November: Planerat åldrande av produkter, en klimatbov – så här löser vi det.  Among the speakers are Carl Dalhammar and Loïc Picard at Groupe Michelin, who have been striving to change current tire labeling towards labeling based on lifetime.
